Reward Offered In Yearlong Maryland Homicide Investigation

A reward is being offered by law enforcement agencies in Maryland for any information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect who killed a 20-year-old man in Harford County.

Jarmil Christopher Stewart was shot and killed in Edgewood on June 9, 2021 in what was described by investigators as “not a random crime.”

Deputies from the Harford County Sheriff's Office responded to the 6200 block of Edgewood Road in the area of Cedar Lake at approximately 11:45 p.m. on the night of the shooting.

Officials said that on arrival, deputies located Stewart, who had suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body.

They attempted to perform lifesaving efforts before paramedics arrived, but Stewart was pronounced dead at the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air.

The investigation into Stewart’s death determined that the shooting was a homicide, and was not a random act. It remains unclear what the motive of the shooting was.

A reward of up to $2,000 has been offered by Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland for anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of the shooter or shooters.
